Sự cải tạo năm 2015 của Landmak Architecture tại khu phố cổ Hà Nội đã tái định nghĩa văn hóa nông nghiệp Việt Nam thông qua ẩm thực Macrobiotic. Dự án này khéo léo hòa trộn vật liệu nhiệt đới với cấu trúc lịch sử, tạo ra không gian nơi ranh giới trong ngoài tan biến hoàn toàn – vừa kết nối sâu sắc với thiên nhiên, vừa tôn trọng nhịp điệu yên tĩnh của khu phố có ý nghĩa lịch sử.
Tích hợp vật liệu địa phương để nối tiếp di sản nông nghiệp
Chiến lược cải tạo tập trung vào tính chân thực về vật liệu thay vì vẻ đẹp hiện đại. Các nguồn nguyên liệu nhiệt đới như tre, rao và đất sét địa phương được lựa chọn không chỉ vì sẵn có mà còn nhờ mối liên hệ sâu sắc với đời sống nông nghiệp truyền thống của Việt Nam. Việc sử dụng những chất liệu này – từ vải tre làm cấu trúc đến lớp sơn đất sét điều hòa nhiệt – đảm bảo mọi bề mặt phản ánh nhịp điệu tự nhiên của vùng đất nông thôn Hà Nội.
