HOMEFOOD

Ẩn mình trong một khu phố yên tĩnh của Hà Nội, HOMEFOOD là dự án nhà hàng mang triết lý gắn kết giữa ẩm thực, thiên nhiên và kiến trúc. Được hình thành từ mong muốn phục hồi các phương thức canh tác truyền thống của người Việt, công trình đồng thời là một thử nghiệm về cách kiến trúc có thể phản ánh lối sống “thuần tự nhiên” trong bối cảnh đô thị hiện đại.

Nhà hàng được cải tạo và mở rộng từ một phần của công trình cũ xây dựng từ thập niên 1980 – vốn từng là trụ sở của một đơn vị nhà nước. Trong bối cảnh khu vực xung quanh mang nhiều dấu ấn lịch sử và đời sống trầm lắng, việc xuất hiện một công trình mới đã từng gây tò mò cho cộng đồng địa phương. Tuy nhiên, thay vì tạo ra sự đối lập, thiết kế lựa chọn cách tiếp cận dung hòa giữa cái cũ và cái mới.

Giải pháp kiến trúc tập trung vào việc xóa nhòa các ranh giới quen thuộc: giữa không gian trong và ngoài, giữa mái và mặt đất, giữa quá khứ và hiện tại. Các lớp không gian được tổ chức liên tục, cho phép ánh sáng tự nhiên len lỏi sâu vào bên trong, đồng thời mở ra những góc nhìn đa chiều ra cảnh quan xung quanh.

Vật liệu đóng vai trò then chốt trong việc định hình cảm xúc không gian. Công trình ưu tiên sử dụng các vật liệu địa phương và quen thuộc với khí hậu nhiệt đới, nhằm tạo nên sự gần gũi và bền vững. Những lựa chọn này không chỉ mang ý nghĩa kỹ thuật mà còn góp phần truyền tải tinh thần mộc mạc, giản dị – tương đồng với triết lý thực dưỡng mà HOMEFOOD theo đuổi.

Không gian nội thất được thiết kế hướng đến sự tĩnh tại và cân bằng, nơi thực khách có thể cảm nhận rõ sự kết nối với thiên nhiên, đất và bầu trời. Ánh sáng, vật liệu và tổ chức không gian cùng nhau tạo nên một trải nghiệm giàu cảm xúc, khuyến khích con người chậm lại, tận hưởng và “thanh lọc” cả thể chất lẫn tinh thần.

HOMEFOOD vì thế không chỉ là một nhà hàng, mà còn là một không gian trải nghiệm – nơi kiến trúc trở thành cầu nối giữa văn hóa ẩm thực, lối sống bền vững và ký ức đô thị trong lòng Hà Nội.

Tucked within a quiet neighborhood of Hanoi, HOMEFOOD is more than a restaurant—it is a spatial interpretation of a lifestyle centered on nature, sustainability, and traditional values. Developed from the vision of reviving Vietnam’s organic farming practices, the project integrates culinary philosophy with architectural expression.

The restaurant is adapted and expanded from a portion of an existing structure dating back to the 1980s, originally serving as the headquarters of a state-owned organization. Situated in an area rich with historical significance, the transformation of this aging building initially drew curiosity from local residents. Rather than imposing a contrasting identity, the design embraces a strategy of continuity and reinterpretation.

At the core of the project is the deliberate blurring of boundaries—between interior and exterior, roof and ground, past and present, stillness and activity. Spaces are layered in a fluid sequence, allowing natural light to penetrate deeply while maintaining visual connections with the surrounding environment.

Materiality plays a crucial role in shaping the architectural language. Locally sourced and climate-responsive materials are employed to evoke a sense of familiarity and sustainability. These choices reflect not only practical considerations but also align with the restaurant’s macrobiotic philosophy, emphasizing simplicity and harmony with nature.

The interior environment is conceived as a place of calm and reflection. Through the interplay of light, texture, and spatial openness, the design encourages users to reconnect with natural elements—earth, sky, and vegetation—while experiencing a sense of balance and tranquility.

Ultimately, HOMEFOOD transcends its function as a dining venue. It stands as an exploration of how architecture can embody cultural values, promote sustainable living, and reinterpret existing structures into meaningful contemporary spaces within the evolving urban fabric of Hanoi.
