Nằm trong cảnh quan sông nước Thái Lan, Que Dua Restaurant do DDconcept thiết kế năm 2018 đã tái định nghĩa trải nghiệm ẩm thực qua bảy cấu trúc lều tự nhiên hòa quyện với dòng sông Me Kong. Dự án này kết hợp tinh tế giữa sinh thái nhiệt đới và kiến trúc hiện đại thông qua việc tích hợp cây dừa, đá nguyên khối và không gian mở, tạo nên sự cân bằng độc đáo giữa thiên nhiên và con người.
Que Dua Restaurant là câu trả lời kiến trúc cho môi trường sông nước Thái Lan, biến khu đất trồng dừa thành không gian ẩm thực được định hình bởi các đường nét tự nhiên và sự trung thực về vật liệu. Dự án tọa lạc bên bờ Me Kong với sáu cấu trúc lều riêng biệt được sắp xếp như một hệ thống sinh thái tự phát, dường như mọc lên từ đất thay vì đắp đặt lên mặt đất. Sự bố trí này tạo ra mối liên kết trực tiếp giữa không gian nội thất và dòng chảy sông, khẳng định vai trò của công trình vừa là điểm dừng chân địa phương vừa là nơi thu hút những người tìm kiếm sự bình yên.
Một trong những đặc điểm nổi bật nhất của Que Dua chính là việc sử dụng sông như trục tâm không gian. Không có rào cản cứng nhắc giữa bên trong và bên ngoài, khu vực ăn uống được bố trí dọc bờ sông để khách hàng có thể ngắm nhìn dòng nước trực tiếp từ bàn ăn. Lớp phủ lá dừa trên mái còn tăng thêm vẻ tự nhiên đồng thời điều chỉnh nhiệt độ theo mùa. Tại khu vực chức năng, đá nguyên khối chiếm vai trò trung tâm: những hòn đá lớn làm nền bar và bồn rửa vẫn giữ màu sắc và cấu trúc tự nhiên, không được xử lý bằng lớp phủ bóng. Chiếu sáng ấm áp giúp hiện lên các đường vân của cột bê tông qua hình ảnh lá dừa, biến vật liệu nặng nề thành những hình dạng mỏng manh dưới ánh sáng tự nhiên.

Material Alchemy
Material selection serves as the project’s most deliberate strategy for achieving its tropical atmosphere. Coconut trees are used in their original forms—both as structural elements for entrance gates and private tents—preserving their natural character without artificial intervention. Bamboo ceilings, supported by geometric concrete columns, create a three-dimensional framework that appears light despite its substantial presence. The roof’s canopy of coconut leaves further reinforces this organic aesthetic while providing shade responsive to seasonal weather patterns.
Raw stone features dominate key functional zones: large, unprocessed rocks form the bar’s foundation, and solid stone lavabos in the restroom retain their natural color and texture. These elements reject polished finishes in favor of a tactile relationship with the earth, echoing traditional Thai craftsmanship without direct replication.
